🦆 Nanjing Salty Duck Review in Rowland Heights
Today we drove to try the Nanjing Salty Duck from Seagull Supermarket, after seeing quite a few rave reviews online. We ordered: 🍜 3 bowls of duck blood vermicelli soup with extra gizzard 🥟 2 steamers (8 total) of Nanjing soup dumplings 🦆 Half a salty duck Total after tax: $112 🍜 Duck Blood Vermicelli Soup Not worth adding the extra gizzard (+$5) — couldn’t really tell it was there. The broth lacked a rich duck flavor. As someone who’s tried better versions — not recommended. 🥟 Nanjing Soup Dumplings The filling was on the sweeter side. I found them pretty tasty and fresh, but eating more than three made it a bit too rich. My friend said it tasted more Wuxi-style — too sweet for his preference. 🦆 Nanjing Salty Duck Half for ~$22 — decent portion (we didn’t finish between three people). But flavor-wise? Mostly just salty, and the texture wasn’t as tender as chicken. Not really worth it, in our opinion. 🤔 Overall Thoughts: Not sure why this spot gets so much love — unless other local options are just that much worse? The price isn’t exactly low, and the taste definitely didn’t justify driving 30 miles for it. 📍 Seagull Supermarket – Nanjing Salty Duck Rowland Heights, CA #NanjingSaltyDuck #DuckBloodVermicelli #RowlandHeightsEats #LAChineseFood
