Nepal Hiking | Annapurna Region
The Annapurna region is one of the three major trekking areas in Nepal, with many classic trekking routes centered around the world's tenth highest peak, Annapurna I. The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) is not the only trekking route in this region. πΊ MBC, or Mardi Himal Base Camp, is located near the sacred peak of Fishtail (Machhapuchhre), which is considered one of the best spots to view and the closest location to Fishtail in Nepal. This trekking route is adjacent to the ABC route. π Compared to the Fishtail Base Camp on the ABC trek, the shape of Fishtail is not visible due to the angle. However, from Mardi Himal, the fishtail shape of the peak is visible throughout the trek. π The highest point of Mardi Himal is the 4500m MBC Base Camp. Typically, trekkers visit the viewpoint above High Camp and then return. To reach the Base Camp from High Camp requires a 3-hour round trip, so it's essential to consider your physical condition at the time and decide whether to proceed to the Base Camp.
