New Izakaya in Irvine——Izakaya Osen Irvine
🏮 Ankimo The appetizer was monkfish liver, which was of average quality. There was no fishy taste, and the seaweed salad was very refreshing. Those who like monkfish liver can order it with confidence. 🏮 Omakase Bowl One of the signature bowls at this place 🌟. This one features mixed seasonal fish and blue crab meat as the base. It's topped with salmon roe and sea urchin. The fish seems to be lightly seasoned, so it's a bit bland, but you can clearly taste the aroma of sesame oil. The accompanying seaweed slices are one of the highlights. They have a different texture from regular nori, being more chewy. My friend and I both really liked them, so we ordered an extra portion to go with our rice later. 🏮 Toro Unagi Bowl It's my first time trying a combination of eel and toro. You can experience the different aromas of the two ingredients intertwining, creating a sense of depth. Make your own hand rolls with the included nori, and add some seasoned rice for a truly satisfying bite! (The seaweed that comes with this bowl is different from the omakase bowl; it uses regular nori. If you prefer the seaweed slices, you can ask for them separately ‼️) 🏠:Izakaya Osen 📍:2000 Main St, Ste 100, Irvine, CA 92614 #Irvine #Izakaya Osen Irvine #Izakaya
