New Park in Dogpatch~Esprit Park🌲
The recently renovated Esprit Park in Dogpatch has just reopened! It’s not only my neighborhood park but also a design project I’ve been working on for four years. The old park, once “claimed” by dogs, has been redefined with new designs that reshape paths and activity spaces, making this precious urban oasis more inclusive and equal for the diverse and growing community. 🌳🏡 Throughout the design and construction of the public park, we faced countless challenges: the intertwined roots of protected trees conflicting with our designs, repeatedly revised grading and stormwater management plans, contaminated soil, and differing opinions from the community. Now, seeing dogs 🐕 and their friends running joyfully in the park, and neighbors happily using the carefully crafted spaces, I feel incredibly fulfilled as a landscape designer. ☺️ Park Facilities: 🌟 The park is divided into two open meadow areas—one for humans and one for dogs 🐶. 🌟 Five rustic wooden fitness zones cater to different exercise and children’s play needs. 🌟 On the west side, the wooded area features two wooden decks surrounding protected trees, perfect for gatherings and relaxation. 🌟 Multiple picnic tables 🧺 are scattered around the meadows, making it ideal for picnics. 🌟 The nighttime lighting design is particularly special, with colorful light poles connecting overhead lights to illuminate the woods at night. 🌟 A great spot in Dogpatch! Bring your kids and furry friends to Esprit Park for some fun. 🌲🧺🐕 #DogFriendly #BayAreaLife #BayAreaWeekend #DogWalkingDiary #BestDogWalkingSpots #SanFranciscoWeekend #UrbanOasis #DogPlayArea #HealingPark #SanFranciscoDogWalking
