New York: $60 for a Handmade Pasta Class š and a Three-Course Dinner!
I saw a post a while ago about a handmade pasta class in New York and wanted to go right away! But when I checked, you could only book two months in advance⦠You need to pay a $10 deposit per person when you book, so I recommend reserving early. Itās really popular š„! But itās popular for good reason! Thereās one long wooden table with flour and basic materials at each spot. The teacher is a Spaniard who loves pasta š. Heās super nice, enthusiastic, and funny. Before we start making the pasta, we order our dinner and drinks. Dinner has 3 courses to choose from, and you can start eating as soon as you finish making your pasta! š Here are the steps: Crack two eggs š„ into the middle of the flour. Use a fork š“ to break up the yolks. Flip the flour and egg over and use a cutting board to cut, cut, cut. Repeat. Knead the dough ā”ļø youāll get a dough ball. Next, we take turns with the pre-made large sheets of pasta. Shake off the excess flour. Follow the instructions to fold and cut along the creases into several pieces. Follow the teacherās lead to make different pasta shapes š. Thereās also a machine to operate, turning it into strips! Put the dough and different shaped pasta in a box to take home! The best part is that after making the pasta, you can sit down and eat a 3-course Italian meal. The portions are huge! Appetizer: š§ Honey Burrata The rich burrata is paired with two slices of sourdough bread š„. Itās so good that the bread isnāt enough! š Meatball I thought it would be ordinary, but it was actually very good! Super filling. Entree: š« Lasagna The top layer has slightly burnt cheese - so good! The middle filling has a lot of meat sauce - not bad! š Carbonara Rigatoni This was my own chosen combination. I can only say I chose wrong. Carbonara and rigatoni donāt go well together. The bacon š„ is very salty, and the pasta isnāt al dente enough. But the portion is huge, and they even gave us two more slices of bread in case we were still hungry. Desserts: š© Doughnut These arenāt donuts but small, sugared balls. They come with caramel sauce for dipping - very sweet. š§ Brownie Sundae Thereās a huge dollop of whipped cream + chocolate sauce + Oreo crumbs on top, a layer of vanilla ice cream š¦, and then the brownie at the bottom. The textures are amazing! I really like it, even though itās a bit sweet and very American, it doesnāt affect how good it is~ We were super full after eating, and we didnāt even finish everything. Thereās even bread before the meal. I suggest coming very hungry. Itās a very worthwhile experience, super suitable for girlsā night out or a date! Yummy š and fun~ Aunt Jakeās Average price: $70 #NewYork #NewYorkRestaurants #NewYorkLife #food #NewYorkFood #Pasta #Handmade #CookYourOwnFood #GreatDateSpots #auntjakes
