New York’s Best Cuban Cuisine🇨🇺 | Foolproof Ordering Guide💯
Recently, I haven’t been obsessed with any particular restaurant—sort of suffering from taste fatigue. So on a Friday night, I decided to try this Midtown Cuban spot with friends. I’d had Cuban sandwiches in Florida before and loved the combo of crispy bread, ham, pickles, and honey mustard. This restaurant, opened in 1963, is a reliable old-timer with a nice ambiance, perfect for gatherings. ✔️ PAELLA DE MARISCOS (Seafood Paella) 🦞 Cuban-style paella features soft, fluffy rice infused with seafood aroma. Must mix in black bean sauce! The seasoned black beans complement the rice amazingly—addictive enough to lick the spoon. ✔️ HAVANA GUAC 🥑 Simple yet delicious: creamy guacamole with just the right seasoning (no overpowering onion). Served with plantain and taro chips, it’s an ideal appetizer to share with friends. ✔️ SANDWICH CUBANO 🥪 A must-order! The bread is toasted to a crisp, filled with marinated pork, ham, pickles, and honey mustard. Cut into four pieces, it’s perfectly shareable and utterly satisfying. ✔️ PONLE ROPA A LA VACA The restaurant’s signature dual-style braised pulled beef. One is savory-spiced, the other slightly sweet—great for those wanting to try two flavors. Both pair wonderfully with rice. 🔥 Don’t skip dessert! We tried the tres leches cake and churros. The tres leches isn’t as good as Mission Ceviche’s but still enjoyable. The churros are crispy, served with condensed milk and toffee sauces—pure indulgence. ————————————————————— 🍽 Restaurant: Victor’s Cafe 📍 Address: 236 W 52nd St, New York, NY 10019 💰 Price: ~$55 per person #WeekendFoodTour #HiddenGemRestaurants #NYCEats #NYCFoodGuide #DailyEats #CubanFood #NYCLife
