🌲 New York’s Hidden Gem

✨ Mysterious and Elegant European-Style Mansion of a Tycoon 🌞 A rare sunny day in New York, my husband and I spent the weekend visiting Kykuit, the long-awaited estate of former U.S. richest man Rockefeller in upstate New York. The estate is not only beautiful, but also offers a panoramic view of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline from the hilltop. The mansion is elegantly designed both inside and out, and the most noteworthy are the countless invaluable artworks collected by the family. Unfortunately, indoor photography is not allowed, as there are many ancient Chinese and European artworks. The tour of the estate is accompanied by a guide, which provides a great experience. The only downside might be that you can’t move around freely and need to follow the guide throughout. Moreover, only outdoor photography is permitted, and you have to board the shuttle back immediately after the tour ends without lingering. Photography enthusiasts are advised to take as many pictures as possible outdoors. 🌲 Special Note: The address above is for the free parking lot of the attraction. You need to drive to the Visitor Center first, park there, get your tickets at the front desk, and then wait at the door for the guide to take you on the shuttle to the estate on the hilltop. It’s recommended to arrive at the Visitor Center half an hour early to queue for tickets. There are restrooms and you can buy water and snacks, as they are not available on the hilltop. Also, the shuttle departs punctually, so don’t be late. It’s best to purchase tickets online in advance, as there’s a chance they might be sold out on-site. I booked the regular tour ticket for $25 per person. They also offer other tours at different prices, which you can check on their official website. 🌲 Note: Photos 11-15 are of another attraction behind the Visitor Center called Philipsburg Manor. If you want to cross the bridge to see it, you need to buy a separate ticket. If you just want to take a few pictures in front of the bridge, it’s free, and it’s also very beautiful. #NewYorkLife #NewYorkWeekend #NewYorkSurrounding #NewYorkDaily #NewYorkWhereToGo #NewYorkInstaSpot #NewYorkHiddenSpot #NewYorkCheckIn #NewYorkCheckInSpots #NewYorkTravel #NewYorkTravelGuide #NewYorkWeekendActivities #NewYorkPhotoSpots #NewYork #NewYorkUpstate #NewYorkUpstateTour #NewYorkPhotography
