New York’s Mareluna: A Last-Minute Culinary Adventure 🌟
🗽My friends and I originally planned to visit the newly opened Korean fried chicken spot, Coqodaq. We arrived early at 4:30 PM, hoping to be among the first to enjoy their famous dishes. However, we were disappointed to find out that the restaurant was unexpectedly closed for the day. Not wanting to leave empty-handed, we searched for other nearby dining options and ended up at Mareluna. Here’s what we tried: Burrata: Served with cherry tomatoes, olives, and a delicious tomato-garlic sauce. The flavors were perfectly balanced—savory, creamy, and fresh. It was a great appetizer, and it would have been perfect with some bread to soak up the extra sauce. 🍅 🗽 Mushroom al Tartufo: This dish featured stuffed gnocchi, black truffle, spinach, pine nuts, and parmesan. The gnocchi were incredibly soft and light, almost cloud-like, with a rich, earthy flavor from the truffle. It was a bit salty but absolutely delicious! 🍄 Lobster Ragu: The dish had small pieces of lobster in a tomato-based sauce with rigatoni pasta. The acidity of the tomatoes complemented the salty, savory flavors of the lobster and cheese. The pasta was al dente, though there were a couple of bites where it seemed slightly undercooked. 🦞 🗽 After our meal, as we were leaving, someone who seemed to be the owner approached us to ask how we liked the food and how we had heard about the restaurant. We didn’t really engage with him (we actually found the place through a friend’s recommendation). #NewYork 🗽
