New York's East Village Speakeasy Bar | Hard to Explain ๐Ÿธ

After seeing a post about the female bartender on xhs, I went there with high hopes, only to find out it was a guy... But as the saying goes, โ€œWeโ€™re here, weโ€™re queer, and weโ€™re not leaving.โ€ ๐ŸŒˆ The bar is tiny, with a counter that wraps around the bar area. The bartender has limited space to work with, so he was constantly moving around all night, making it look like a dance. ๐Ÿ•บ Heart to Explain ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ I started with a drink that was both sour and bitter. It was the epitome of โ€œHard to Explain.โ€ After taking a few sips, I had to tell the bartender it wasnโ€™t working for me. He quickly and warmly swapped it out for another drink. Kudos to him! ๐Ÿ‘ Express X ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ A sweet lychee-flavored drink with a twist of herbal notes. Itโ€™s visually appealing and delicious without being one-dimensional. ๐Ÿ“ Cameron Obscura ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ This drink is apparently quite popular. The elderflower sweetness combined with lemon juice is sweet but not cloying, and the effervescence adds a nice touch. Itโ€™s a big step up from the first drink. ๐ŸŒŸ Overall, the drinks didnโ€™t blow me away, but the bartender was super enthusiastic and attentive. Spending an evening here with friends or family in this Japanese-inspired bar could definitely make for a lovely night. ๐ŸŒ‡ #NewYorkBars #NewYorkBarRecommendations ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒฟ
