New York's First Conveyor Belt Sushi Buffet!
$32 to Try the Entire Menu 🍣 Passing by 30th Street, I spotted a conveyor belt sushi buffet. I opted for the $49 dinner menu for the matcha mochi ice cream (which turned out to be a huge disappointment—more on that later). I tried almost everything on the menu, and here’s my honest review 👇 (menu on the last page). 🔥 Personal Red & Black List ✅ Inari: My favorite of the night—sweet and tangy. I had two! 🍙 ✅ Salmon Toro: Thick-cut salmon, very fresh. ✅ Tuna: Pretty good, decently fresh. ✅ Aburi Salmon Mayo: Delicious and not greasy. ✅ Mexican Tempura: Crispy exterior with a hint of spice—top 2 favorite! 🌮🔥 ✅ Crab Croquette: Very creamy, but no visible crab meat. 🦀 ✅ Fire: Spicy sushi that cuts through the richness. ✅ Spicy Tuna: Tasty, with generous chunks of tuna. ✅ Eel Avocado: A big piece of eel on top. 🐉 ✅ Ocean Roll: Complex flavors, well-seasoned, topped with fish roe. ✅ Tamago: Sweet and delicious. 🍳 ✅ Agedashi Tofu: Tender and flavorful. 🚫 Shime Saba: Too fishy. 🚫 Octopus: Not fresh. 🚫 Red Snapper: Very fishy. 🚫 Ebi Shumai: Avoid—mostly starch inside. 🚫 Masago HR: A thin layer of fish roe over too much rice. 🚫 Assorted Tempura: Greasy and lazy—used imitation crab. 🚫 Vegetable Assorted Tempura: Also greasy, though the broccoli tempura was decent. 🚫 Tuna Avocado: Bland, and the seaweed was tough to bite through. 🚫 Tobiko: Very stingy with the fish roe. 🚫 Matcha Mochi Ice Cream: The website says 2 per person, but in-store, it’s limited to 1. 🍵🍦 ⚪️ Unagi: A bit too salty. ⚪️ Yellowtail: Just okay. ⚪️ Shrimp: Not sweet or fresh. ⚪️ Spider Roll: Huge portion, but tastes the same as other sushi places. ⚪️ House Salad: Not worth ordering. ⚪️ Shoyo Ramen: Tasty, decent portion, lots of bamboo shoots. 🍜 💡 Summary: Matcha mochi must be ordered separately from the server. Don’t order too much—they’re strict about the waste rule. Recommend ordering nigiri sushi first, as the rice portions get bigger later. No reservations—go before 5 PM for fewer crowds. Not the best value—lunch and dinner menus are almost the same. 📍 Kaiten Zushi Nomad 💰 Lunch 32.99∣Dinner49.99 #NYCFood #NYCBuffet #NYCConveyorBeltSushi #WorkersCafeteria #NYCFoodReview #SushiLovers #JapaneseCuisine
