New York's Hidden Gem: HYUN 🌟
The appetizers here are a refreshing start: a crisp lettuce salad, kimchi, and spicy pickled scallions. They’re light and perfect for resetting your palate before diving into the next round. 🥗 🌿🌟Right off the bat, you’re presented with 12 different cuts of meat, like Ribeye, Short Rib, Tenderloin, Coulotte, Chuck Cap, and more. The staff will introduce where each cut comes from, but by the end, we were a bit overwhelmed! 🍖 The dipping sauces are top-notch: black truffle salt, red wine salt, Korean chili sauce, and freshly grated wasabi. I’m in love with the black truffle salt—it adds an incredible aroma and richness to the meat. The wasabi is freshly ground, not too pungent, and actually enhances the clean flavor of the beef! 🌟 🌿🌟 For an extra $45, you can add Uni, which pairs perfectly with the wagyu. The server will wrap it for you—wagyu + sea urchin + nori. One bite and you’re in heaven! The melt-in-your-mouth texture and the fusion of fat and the sweetness of the sea urchin are divine! 🍣 🔥 After the 12 cuts, you move on to marinated wagyu, which has a more Korean-style flavor, salty and savory, quite different from the earlier grilled flavors. 🫶 Free add-on round: At this point, you can continue to add your favorite meats. My friend and I were full after just one round! 📍 HYUN 10 E 33rd St, New York, NY 10016 #RestaurantDiary #HiddenGems 🌟🌟
