New York's Hidden Gem Bars (1) The Gentle World of Tipsiness 🌟
Alcohol and calories, if you’re going to indulge, make it worth it. 🌊 I usually pay close attention to my diet and have an average tolerance for alcohol. But over the past year, influenced by friends, I’ve started to appreciate the hazy and cozy feeling of seeing the world through slightly tipsy eyes. Before I knew it, I’d visited quite a few bars in New York and thought I’d share my experiences with you all. 🍸 🍹 Dante I’ve been here many times with different friends. It’s a former coffee shop turned bar, the epitome of West Village romantic retro charm. 🌸Their classic Negroni is a must-try, but the white Negroni with its lingering fragrance and the chocolate and coffee variations are also amazing. Each season they offer limited-edition drinks, and I loved the toffee and apple notes from last winter. The food isn’t mind-blowing, but it’s comforting and light for bar fare, even though my boyfriend loves their burger. 🍔 🍹 NR An Upper East Side Japanese-style bar with Meiji-era decor that exudes elegant wood textures. The yuzu sansho, a gin and yuzu combination, perfectly hits my taste buds. 🎢 The food is also Japanese-Western fusion, with dishes like sea urchin roe and beef marrow ramen that look great on camera. 🍜 🍹 Thyme This place is fancy, but in the best way. They have a drink that literally descends from the ceiling, and another served in an Aladdin’s lamp-style container. Even the shots come in little shell bowls. 🍃 The drinks are quite palatable, with a nice balance of sweet and sour flavors. 🍸 #NewYork 🌃🌟
