New York | Essential by Christophe (2)๐
New York Dining Experience ๐ ๐ค Scallop: Slightly smoked scallops that still retain their natural sweetness and tenderness. The caviar adds a touch of briny flavor, while the hazelnut sauce is rich and creamy. This scallop dish is absolutely perfect in my book! ๐ฆช ๐Turbot with Zucchini Flowers and Cauliflower: Compared to the previous seafood dishes, this poached turbot is a bit underwhelming. ๐ Main Courses ๐ค Roasted Rack of Pigeon: The pigeon breast is roasted to a crispy exterior with a tender, juicy interior. The orange-infused seasoning is refreshing, and the liver-based filling adds a rich, complex gamey flavor. ๐ Wagyu Chuck Roll with Eggplant, Lemon, and Sake Sauce: The eggplant is perfectly cooked, and the lemon and sake sauce adds a delightful twist. This dish is delicious! ๐ Pre-Dessert ๐ Rose Rhubarb Jam with Kefir Sorbet: Visually stunning, but the tartness and chill were a bit too much for my taste. ๐ Dessert ๐ค Tout Chocolat: A warm, rich chocolate tart with just the right amount of sweetness. I will always love chocolate! ๐ซ Royal Ann Cherry with Elderflower and Perilla Sorbet: I probably wonโt try sorbet-based desserts again. The cherries felt a bit like canned fruit. ๐ ๐ Tasting Menu $255: Overall, this is an incredibly high-value French dining experience. The price is on par with a Michelin one-star restaurant, but the quality feels like a Michelin two-star. The pacing and flow of the meal were perfect, and I felt very satisfied. You can also opt for a 3/4-course set for $175/$205. #NYCLife ๐ #NYCWorkingLife ๐
