Main Courses, We Ordered Three Dishes 🌊 Duck Confit: The confit duck leg is their signature dish. How could you visit a French restaurant without trying duck? Their version features a whole duck leg, roasted to bring out a rich, aromatic flavor. The dish is accompanied by broccoli rabe (a bit bitter) and radish slices. Overall, it’s a well-balanced dish that’s not overly greasy, making it one of the better duck legs I’ve had. $40. 🍖 Grilled Suvillian County Trout: This grilled trout was surprisingly delicious. The fish was incredibly fragrant and tender, with a crispy skin that had no fishy taste at all. The sides were also tasty. I noticed that not many people recommend this dish, but I think it’s worth a try. $39. 🐟 🎢 Steak Frites: The classic French dish of steak with fries. I ordered it medium-rare, but it arrived closer to medium. Unfortunately, the steak wasn’t very flavorful, and the fries were the better part of the dish. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money on this one. If you’re craving steak, try Prime Meats instead. $49. 🍔 For desserts, we tried two dishes: 🌸Crème Brûlée: A delicious and perfectly made crème brûlée. It’s not overly sweet and has a lovely caramelized top. Highly recommended! $16. 🍼 Profiteroles: Traditional cream puffs topped with dark chocolate sauce. Trust me, the chocolate sauce is rich but not overly sweet, so the profiteroles are not cloying at all. Highly recommended! $16. 🍼 🍃 Overall, Balthazar is a pretty good French restaurant that met my expectations. The only dish I wouldn’t recommend is the steak frites. The rest of the dishes were enjoyable. For a group of five, including tips, the total was around $450. It’s a great spot for anyone who loves French cuisine! 🌟 #NewYork #FrenchCuisine
