New York | Beef Broth Rice Porridge Moment 🍲
✨While hot pot restaurants are rolling out spicier and spicier butter chili broths, I personally believe that a non-spicy broth is the perfect way to enjoy Zhazha Beef 🫴. 🍅 Guizhou-style sour soup has a slightly fermented, refreshing tanginess. Though it looks bright red and seems like it might be heavy on the taste buds, it’s actually quite light and refreshing. The sourness comes from tomatoes, making it different from a regular tomato broth. ✨The broth comes with a generous amount of minced beef and bean sprouts. You can cook fatty beef, tender beef slices, beef brisket, and tripe... everything is delicious and moreish. The more you eat, the more your appetite is whetted, and the more you want to eat. It’s a whirlwind of flavors! 😋 🍩 The fried dough sticks (youtiao) deserve a special mention. They are hands down one of the best in New York (excluding street stalls, just talking about the ones you can order inside). The outer skin is golden and crispy, while the inside is fluffy and chewy. I highly recommend they set up a to-go spot for these at the entrance! One complaint... their chairs are quite something. Since the restaurant opened, they’ve never changed them. You’re destined to sit hunched over, and as you eat, you can feel your stomach gradually expanding. It’s a bit guilty, but you can’t help but keep eating. 😃 ✨ For the sake of this delicious meal, at around $200 for five people leaving completely stuffed, it’s such a high-value experience. I can compromise on the chairs just for this! Every visit feels like a joyful carb indulgence! 📍 Zhazha Beef Open until 6 am. #NewYorkTravel #NYCEating 🌆✨
