New York | Breakfast Churros, a Taste of Barcelona (1)๐
A morning stroll through SoHo and the Lower East Side,I was originally heading to the Nordic bakery SNรR bakery, but at the corner of Houston St and 1st Ave,I spotted the charming El Churro and decided to park and explore. ๐ ๐ Back in 2019, my partner and I traveled to Madrid and Barcelona, where we indulged in the local tradition of churros for breakfast every day. Whether it was churros or porras, we couldn't get enough of them, and even back in New York, we still longed for that taste. ๐ Unfortunately, finding authentic churros in New York has been a challenge. ๐ข Most places offer stuffed churros with fancy toppings, but pure, traditional churros are hard to come by,especially in the early morning hours. El Churro is nestled in a corner, next to Russ & Daughters, offering only traditional Spanish churros, dipping sauces, drinks, and ice cream, with vegan and gluten-free options. ๐ผ ๐ธWe enjoyed a set of 5 churros ($10),a dark chocolate dipping sauce ($3.5),and two lattes ($6 each)โa decent value for the experience. ๐ฐ As soon as we took a bite, memories flooded back, transporting us to Spain and the streets of Barcelona. ๐While not a perfect replica, it was about 70% authentic, and I highly recommend giving it a try, especially when youโre craving that familiar taste. #FoodExploration #NYCAdventures #MyDailyLife ๐ฝ๐
