🌟 New York | Delicious Vietnamese Cuisine on Man Island | La Dong 🌴

πŸ“ La Dong 11 E 17th St, New York, NY 10003 I always pass by this area but surprisingly didn't know there was such a great Vietnamese restaurant here. The decor inside has a bit of a Thai vibe. The service is super and attentive, constantly greeting us, refilling water, changing plates, and clearing trash. πŸ₯© 🌴 We were greeted with a plate of shrimp chips before the meal. Then we ordered dishes from the chef specials menu: Sugarcane Shrimp (Appetizer) Shaking Beef (Entree) Crab Fried Rice (Entree) My favorite was the beef and crab fried rice! The sauce was incredibly delicious. 🌴 The beef was chewy but not tough, and the accompanying salad felt like it was carefully seasoned, with a hint of mustard that was refreshing and perfect for cutting through the richness. It's rare to find crab fried rice that's not too salty or heavy, preserving the aroma of the crab and paired with a tangy and spicy sauce that really makes you want to eat more rice. πŸ” The portions might look small in the pictures, but they were actually quite substantial. Two of us barely finished the meat and still had half a plate of fried rice to take home. 🌴 The average cost was around $50 per person. Next time, I want to try the drinks menu and a beverage called Coconut Salt Coffee, which sounds really interesting. #NYCDining 🍽️🌟
