Never thought Persian food could be this delicious 🫡 They're so good with spices, and the meat texture is just superb I've seen recommendations for Sofreh for a while This place is its sister restaurant, and I prefer the menu here Make sure to book early on Resy, it's not too hard to get a spot 😉 【Barbari】The baked bread is decent, described by the staff as a mix between baguette and flatbread. It's indeed quite chewy and tough. The other type is similar to brioche 🥖😋 【Green Tahini Salad】A very unique salad with kale, juicy orange chunks, warm and soft date pieces, crisp pears, radishes, and sesame seeds. The dressing has a slight spicy kick, a magical combination. Sweet-tooth folks would love it, though the dates are a bit too sweet for me. Overall, it's delicious 🥗🍊😍 【Lamb Ribs】No exaggeration, a must-order!! The lamb ribs are thick and tender, with a bit of fat, very lamb-y (in a good way). Seasoned with tamarind and date sauce, it's sweet and sour—yes, you read that right. Topped with crushed walnuts and small berries, the chili rings are pickled and add a sour note. This dish has layers of flavors 🍖🌰😋 【Octopus Kabob】The grilled octopus tentacles are a bit underwhelming. The texture and doneness are just right, and the red peppers and onions are fragrant. The sauce is smooth but overall a bit salty, especially with the green olive meat 🐙🌶️😐 【Lamb Shank】Highly recommended! It comes with fava beans, which I love, probably the same type used in Spanish seafood paella. Of course, the star is the lamb shank. The exterior is seared, and the meat is so tender it falls off the bone. There's a lot of meat, and the skin part is soft and gelatinous. The spice seasoning is very appealing, with visible mint leaves, dill, and basil? I suspect there's saffron in it. The roasted garlic cloves are surprisingly sweet, and the accompanying fragrant rice is fluffy with a hint of coconut aroma 🍖🌿😋 【Saffron Ice Cream Sandwich】This is way better than what I find in supermarkets. The shell is a bit like honey candy, with a malt sweetness and date pieces.
