💫 New York | Fragrant Coq au Vin Near NYU
🥰 A quaint French bistro near Washington Square Park, the ambiance is incredibly romantic 💕. Now that the weather is warm, taking a stroll through the West Village after dinner is simply delightful~ 📜 The menu is just a single page, mostly appetizers, but the portion sizes are surprisingly large, and the food is absolutely delicious! The four dishes and one dessert we ordered were all incredibly tasty. 🍽️ Starters: 🦀️ Crab Tartine | Toasty, crispy bread topped with generous amounts of crab meat, avocado, pickled peppers, and citrus aioli, instantly whets the appetite. 🐙 Seared Octopus | Who can resist seared octopus! Served with olive oil, beets, and fennel, the flavors are rich and complex. 🍲 Main Courses: 🦪 Moules de Printemps | A pot of steamed mussels! Scallions, garlic, cream, and wine sauce, perfect for dipping bread and slurping up the sauce 🤤 (but there’s a bit of sand in the mussels, so skip it if you mind that). 🐓 Coq au Vin | Behold the coq au vin! The chicken legs are so tender they fall off the bone with a gentle prod, and the sauce is so good that you’ll finish every last bit of carrot and potato. This dish is delicious and the portion is huge! 🍮 Dessert: 🍌 Banana Crème Brûlée | I never expected banana crème brûlée to be so good! The flavor is incredibly surprising. I’m not usually a fan of banana-flavored desserts, but this one is so smooth and not overly sweet! It’s very similar to Magnolia’s banana pudding but even silkier. 💰 Eating all of this will set you back only $50 per person on average! Thanks to my dining buddy for finding such a great place! (Service is slow, so don’t go if you’re in a rush). 📍 Amelie Bistro & Wine Bar West Village #NewYorkFood #NewYorkFoodie #NewYorkRestaurants #NewYorkFrenchFood #NewYorkFoodGuide #NewYorkDining #GlobalFoodExploration #100RestaurantChallenge
