New York | Francie 🍗
🌿Francie, a New American duck restaurant nestled in Brooklyn, was quite the hot spot in 2023, and getting a reservation was no easy feat. The overall experience, however, was a bit underwhelming. The decor felt a tad outdated and didn't quite resonate with my personal taste. 🌆 🏙️ When the duck arrived, they actually took a photo of it before plating, which was a unique touch. However, the meat was a bit on the tougher side—not as tender as I had hoped—and the skin lacked that perfect crispiness. 🌿The appetizers were definitely more enjoyable than the main course, which felt rather ordinary compared to many other restaurants in the area. As we were leaving, I unexpectedly ran into the owner and learned that the chef had previously worked at the one-star Michelin restaurant Piora in New York. 🏙️ Interestingly, I had dined at Piora back in 2014 and even showed him the photos. Piora eventually closed down! Given my less-than-stellar experience at Piora, it’s no surprise that Francie didn’t win me over either. 😊 🌿 #NewYorkFood #NewYorkLife #WilliamsburgEats 🌟
