New York | Hainan Fermented Vinegar Hot Pot Base Is Really Something🌟
Brooklyn’s 8th Avenue is pretty far from where I live, but this place is one of the few spots I’m willing to take the long subway ride for (it was my first Chinese meal in New York, so it holds a special place in my heart 🥹)! I tried the 🆕 Hainan Fermented Vinegar Hot Pot Base, and it’s a game-changer! It’s salty with a tangy twist, a bit spicy but also subtly sweet. The balance is just perfect, and the broth doesn’t get overpowering as you cook. You know how spicy pots usually get more intense, and tomato pots get saltier the longer they cook? This one, thanks to the fermented rice wine, gets more aromatic the longer it simmers. It’s so addictive! 🍲 🌃 The tomato pot might have some competition in my heart now... This base is amazing with bamboo pith shrimp paste and morel shrimp paste (cover pic) — they’re just so good! 🍤 🥥 Coconut Chicken Pot Base! The chicken is really top-notch, tender and smooth. It’s perfect for cooking mushrooms, vegetables, and noodles. The natural sweetness of the coconut aroma makes the whole experience so comforting. 🍊 🌶️ The Sichuan Pepper Hot Pot Base is as reliable as ever, with just the right amount of spice and aroma. It’s perfect for those who want a bit of heat but still want to taste the ingredients. #NewYork 🌃
