Uni Scallop 🐚 (Not Recommended) ✖️ The uni here has a cheap, cloth-like taste. Have you ever experienced this? For me, it brings back unpleasant memories and makes me feel nauseous. The scallop wasn't fresh either. 🤢 Maru Maru Potato 🥔 (Not Recommended) This was the most disappointing dish. The selling point is supposed to be truffle butter, but it’s just super salty fried potatoes. 🥔 Pepper Wing 🐥 (Worth a Try) I ordered chicken wings between Karage and this option. They’re pretty average with no standout features. Order them if you’re in the mood. 🍗 Yakiniku Wrap 🌯 (Recommended) This was the best dish I tried. The minced meat has a slightly sweet Korean-style sauce, paired with lettuce, mayo, and a scallion pancake. It’s the most flavorful and satisfying option, especially for carb lovers like me. The scallion pancake has a homely taste. 🥢 Kani Harumaki 🦀️ (Recommended) The snow crab and pork spring rolls are pretty good. The rolls are crispy, and the sauce is decent. If I had to pick one out of the nine dishes I tried, I’d recommend these. 🍱 Kaisen Okonomiyaki 🫕 (Worth a Try) This is a pretty standard seafood okonomiyaki. The sauce is a bit too much, making the texture a bit heavy. It’s still worth ordering, but it feels like a typical izakaya-level dish. 🥧 I apologize for using the word “average” so many times in this review, but that’s how the overall experience felt. These are just affordable dishes, so don’t expect too much. Maybe you’ll find them satisfactory if you don’t have high expectations. 🍔 In the end, I was too full to try the highly praised matcha tofu dessert, and I probably won’t be back. 📍 Hakata Tonton #NewYorkJapaneseFood #NewYorkFood 🌇
