New York | Hav & Mar: Ethiopian & Swedish Fusion 🌟
I recently visited Hav & Mar in New York, a place that offers a fascinating blend of Ethiopian and Swedish cuisines. It’s like stepping into a culinary adventure where two distinct cultures come together in unexpected ways! 🌍 🌟 Hav Bread Basket: The bread basket is a good start, featuring soft scones, cornbread, and crisp. While they were enjoyable, they didn’t quite live up to my expectations. Maybe I’m just a tough critic when it comes to bread! 🥪 🌟 Swediopian: This dish was a delightful surprise! The sauce is incredibly unique, with a perfect balance of flavors that I couldn’t quite place. The salmon is super fresh and pairs beautifully with the crisp. If you’re a seafood lover, this is definitely worth a try! 🍖 🌟 Banana Leaf Snapper: The presentation alone is worth mentioning. Served on a banana leaf, the snapper is cooked to perfection. The coconut sticky rice is a standout—crispy on the outside with a slightly underwhelming texture inside. It could have been a bit more sticky, but overall, it’s still a solid choice. 🍖 🌟 Havatini: Seafood pasta with uni butter. While it’s a creative take on pasta, there’s still a noticeable difference compared to traditional Italian pasta. The uni butter adds a unique twist, but it might not satisfy purists. 🍝 🌟 Accidental Fish Dish: In a quirky turn of events, they brought us an extra fish dish by mistake. Unfortunately, it wasn’t great. The meat was really dry, which was a bit disappointing. 🐟 Despite the few misses, Hav & Mar is definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for something different. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a unique dining experience. Just be prepared for a few surprises along the way! 🌟 #NewYork #FusionCuisine #UniqueEats 🌆🌟
