New York | Hidden Gem Restaurant: HOUSE Brooklyn (1)๐
After the success of HOUSE Nishiazabu in Tokyo, Japanese chef Yuji Tani opened his second restaurant, HOUSE Brooklyn, in Greenpoint last December. This place is all about Japanese-French fusion cuisine. ๐ ๐ The restaurant is tucked away between a craft shop called Cibone and a dashi broth store called Dashi Okume. As soon as you step into the warehouse, youโre greeted by a strong Japanese vibe. The location is just perfect! ๐ก ๐ข The space is super cozyโthere are only 10 counter seats. The kitchen staff, sommelier, and waitstaff make up a total of just five people. But donโt let the small size fool youโthe service is incredibly attentive and friendly. Itโs a delightful dining experience! ๐ ๐ Chef Tani changes the menu roughly every six weeks, based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback. So, every visit feels like a new adventure! ๐ฟ The tasting menu has nine courses, paired with sake flights: Appetizer: Liver Mousse & Apple Monaka. The smooth mousse combined with the sweet and sour jam is an instant hit. One bite and youโre hooked! ๐ ๐ #NewYork #HOUSEBrooklyn #JapaneseFrenchFusion ๐ฝ
