New York's Diverse Cuisine π₯’ But This Hunan Cuisine Is the Best for Rice! I have a soft spot for Hunan cuisine over Sichuan. I love the rich, spicy, and savory flavors that make every meal so satisfying. Today, I visited a hidden gem of Hunan cuisine that's been a favorite of mine for years. π π Stir-Fried Pig Kidney: The chef's timing was perfect. The kidney was incredibly tender and had no off-flavors. It was clean, full of wok hei, and generously portioned. I appreciated that it wasn't overly thickened with starch. (I'm not a fan of sticky, overly thickened dishes.) It was perfect for rice. π π Zigong Braised Pork Feet: Once you start, you can't stop. The pork feet were collagen-rich, boneless, and hair-free. They were flavorful and perfect for rice. The outer layer was crispy, while the inside was tender. Even the green chilies were so good that I took them home to mix with rice. π π Hunan Spicy Shrimp: Each shrimp was large, with a slit back for better flavor absorption. The shells were thin, and the meat was thick and succulent. The spicy and fragrant flavors were intense. Eating them with the sauce was a perfect blend of fresh and spicy. Very authentic. π¦ #HunanCuisine #NewYork #NYCLife ππ
