New York | Hurry to Chef Huang (1)🌟
I’ve heard so many good things about this place from friends, and every dish is supposed to be amazing. I had to come and check it out! The average cost is around 💲50 per person. 🌸 As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a bubbly hand wash station—it was a fun and unexpected touch that set a high-end culinary vibe right from the start! 🧼 Chef Huang’s Signature Peking Duck (Half) 💲41 🌟 We were four people, and we ordered just half a duck. Note that half a duck doesn’t come with duck soup, which is an additional 💲2 per bowl. This Peking duck is hands down the best I’ve had in New York. 🌸 The meat is incredibly tender, not dry at all, and the skin is super crispy. We asked the chef for some white sugar, and the duck skin just melts in your mouth! The pancakes are thin, so you don’t feel overly full after just a couple. 🌟The accompaniments are classic: sweet bean sauce, scallions, and cucumber. We each ordered a bowl of duck soup, which was really flavorful and fresh. 🍖 🌸Crispy Pastry with Low-Temperature Braised Beef Short Ribs 💲38 This dish has such a strong sense of ceremony! It’s served in a huge wooden box. I was hoping for some dramatic smoke when we opened it, but no such luck. 🌟It feels a bit like a more affordable version of Wellington steak. The pastry is super crispy, and the beef short ribs are tender. 🌸However, there’s no seasoning between the pastry and the ribs, which makes the layers a bit lacking. It comes with canned pineapple to cut through the richness. 🍖 #NewYork 🌇🌟
