New York | Is Torrisi Worth the Hype? (1)❓

📍 Torrisi, 175 Mulberry St. A few foodie friends highly recommended it, so I, the Northerner, tried really hard for weeks and finally managed to get a reservation. 🌿 🍃 In the bustling Soho, the entrance is shaded by green trees. Even before the doors opened, more than ten people were already in line. Once inside, I was immediately struck by the charm of the Puck Building. The decor is truly something Pete Wells described best: the New York of an outsider’s imagination. The Southerner thought it was beautifully dark, though the kitchen seemed a bit impractical. But I, the Northerner, found it an absolute visual treat. 🌟 💰 The value for money is pretty good. Without drinks, lunch came out to around $60+/pp, all in. 🥒 The pickles were very crisp, and the dill flavor wasn’t overwhelmed by the sauce. The cucumber slices had their seeds removed and were probably salted to draw out moisture. I, the Northerner, really liked them, but the Southerner said he could make something similar. 🥒 🐙 The octopus wasn’t tender enough and a bit tough to chew. I, the Northerner, felt a bit disheartened when I first cut into it—it was hard to slice, and the knife wasn’t very sharp. But the accompanying vegetables and sauce were quite good, though a bit salty and spicy. #NewYork 🐙
