New York | LYSÉE(1)
The first time I tasted Eunji Lee's creations was back in 2022 at Jungsik. The banana dish was okay, but the tea grapefruit sorbet was heavenly! 🌊🎢 Later, I heard that the banana dish had been discontinued, which made me start paying attention to the pastry chef. When I heard she had opened her own place, Lysée, I made sure to visit during its opening days. 🌊🎢After trying a few of their signature cakes, I thought the flavors were decent (maybe pure baking would be even better?). This time, during the Christmas/New Year special menu, the second dish brought back her peak prowess—haha, it was fantastic! However, as a dessert tasting menu, the value for money is still quite average. For the same amount, I might prefer to have two meals at Chikalicious with wine. ⚡️ ✨✨✨ 🍮 Ossetra Caviar Tartelette, Smoked Brown Rice Cream, Salted Egg Yolk Starting with a savory opening is excellent. The scallions paired with salted egg yolk have a flavor reminiscent of garlic butter, but with a unique twist. 🌟 🌊🎢 #NewYork 🌃
