New York | NJ Horseback Riding to Enjoy Autumn 🐎🍂 Embrace Nature 🌳
📍 Serene Horse Ranch 🕑 I previously stumbled upon a post about horseback riding in NJ, and yesterday, I finally went riding with friends! It’s a 1.5-hour drive from Jersey City. 📅 Reservations are required. We texted the owner and booked a 2-hour ride for 2 PM, but due to traffic, we arrived half an hour late. Since they had other appointments, he said we only had one hour left 🤣 But I think it was okay that we only rode for an hour because it got a bit boring towards the end 🥱 And my butt hurt a lot; even after I got home, my butt was still sore from sitting on the sofa 🥹 💰 After booking, he’ll send a link, and each person needs to buy a $27🔪 riding permit before arriving at the ranch. The riding price is$50🔪 per person per hour. We went with a group of four, and he gave us a 20% discount, so we each paid $40🔪 in the end. By the way, they don’t accept credit cards, only PayPal or cash. 📷 The guide will take photos with her phone 🙂↔️ And not the person behind the guide, the person behind you almost never gets shot) It’s also challenging to take photos because it’s very bumpy on the horse. If you want photos, be sure to bring friends who like to help you record and take photos, and take lots of photos of each other! 🍂 Now almost all the leaves have fallen off, and the leaves on the ground are dry. I think it would have been more beautiful two weeks ago 🤩 Process: After arriving at the ranch, you can choose your horse directly. I chose a mare named Honey (the owner said it’s very suitable for beginners, and after riding, I found it indeed is, because even when I kicked it, it wouldn’t speed up🤣 It was slow and leisurely the whole time). After choosing your horse, you can get on it. The staff will give you a simple training to tell you how to stop and how to control the horse’s direction and other basics (I think because they are a team of horses and have been trained, sometimes I was using my phone to take photos and wasn’t paying attention to controlling the horse, they just followed the horse in front and didn’t wander off and certainly didn’t speed up), and when everyone is ready, the guide will lead everyone to start riding. #HikingAndEnjoyingAutumn #HiddenAutumnSpots #NewYork #NewYorkLife #HorsebackRiding #NJ #HorsebackRidingPhotos #NewYorkArea #NewYorkWeekendActivities #NewYorkHorsebackRiding
