New York | Noguchi Museum 🏛️
Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988) was a Japanese-American designer and sculptor, one of the most influential figures in post-war art. He founded the museum in 1985. The museum showcases his works in various media, including sculpture, architecture, and stage design. His diverse portfolio includes spatial arrangements, stone sculptures, paper lanterns, and home furnishings. 🎨 In 1970, he created the Akari series of lanterns. "Akari" means "light" in Japanese. 🌟 The museum is located in Queens and has a very peaceful and comfortable atmosphere. The entrance is quite modest, and as you walk by, you can't help but imagine how wonderful it would be to work in a studio here. Many of the pieces are made of stone, yet they look incredibly delicate. Even though the museum isn't very large, it feels like a perfect place to stand and dream. 🌿 #ContemporaryArtMuseum #IsamuNoguchi #NewYork #ArtistOfTheDay
