New York | Nostalgic Flashback – The Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare 🍽️

Digging through my drafts like a true procrastinator… Little did I know this iconic spot would later face chef drama, closure, reopening, and a lost star. Here’s a tribute to the CTBF of old — just the highlights that still linger. Entered through a supermarket (yes, really) and followed a stream of well-dressed diners to the hidden entrance — that NYC mystique, I guess? Memorable Bites: ▫️ Salmon Roe – Popping texture like flavor jewels. ▫️ Wagyu Tartare – Rich and delicate. ▫️ Scallop – Served on a perforated plate I still remember. ▫️ Tuna with Caviar – Luxe and balanced. ▫️ Uni Toast – Sweet, oceanic, unforgettable. 🌊 ▫️ Foie Gras and Truffle Soup – Layers upon layers, each spoon a discovery. ▫️ Sea Bass – Crispy skin, firm flesh. ▫️ Duck – Tender, with a whisper-thin ham slice for depth. ▫️ Frozen Soufflé – Ethereal, melt-in-your-mouth magic. ❄️ ▫️ Mochi – (A little birdie told me to write “anniversary” for extra treats…) ▫️ Madeleine & Petit Fours – So many sweets, we waddled out happily stuffed. Classic fine dining at its best: premium ingredients, artful plating, unique tableware, serene ambiance, impeccable service. For a while, CTBF was my gold standard for tasting menus in NYC. And only in New York does it feel perfectly normal to walk through a grocery store for a three-star meal. To those who’ve been since the reboot — is it still worth the pilgrimage? 👀 📍 The Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare 431 W 37th St, New York, NY 10018 #NYCLife #NYCFoodFinds #NYCEats #NYCFoodGuide #MichelinNYC #FineDiningMemories 🥂🔮
