New York | Once More Zaipin 🌟

I’m totally willing to wait 8 minutes for a wheel cake with a mountain of shredded pork! Chinatown is so vast that I’ve never explored every corner. On the eastern side, I found a super tiny wheel cake shop. 🍔 🌟 They have over ten flavors, both sweet and savory (including the onion and green pepper flavors that made my eyes widen in surprise—definitely pushing the boundaries, lol). But you can’t go wrong by following the recommendations on the sign! 🥔 Taro Paste Filling: The filling has a slightly grainy texture, which feels really comfortable in the mouth. The red bean paste isn’t mashed into a puree, it’s not overly sweet, and it’s super fragrant! 🧀 Savory Cream and Shredded Pork: The filling is super generous. If you also love those semi-circular shredded pork cream cakes, this is a familiar and delightful surprise! The salted egg yolk and taro paste is a classic sweet-savory combination, with a huge yolk that doesn’t feel cloying. The cake skin is soft and substantial, not crispy and crunchy, like a warm little pastry. 🫶🏻 I ordered a strawberry matcha latte🍓—the strawberry sauce isn’t from a can, which is quite touching for such a small shop. 🌟 The whole shop has a slow pace, no lines, but people are always coming in. I love the white tables, which are bright, clean, and not greasy. It’s the kind of place where you’d want to sit and daydream for an entire afternoon. 🍦 The handsome owner said they might introduce ice cream-flavored wheel cakes in the summer—I’m genuinely looking forward to that! 📍 Once More Zaipin #NewYorkTravel #NewYorkRestaurantExploration 🗽🌟
