New York | Peacock Feathers & One-Star Elegance – Vestry 🦚✨
For the first time, I’m tempted to describe a restaurant as opulent: peacock feathers on the table, faux-fur throws on chairs, crystal glasses glowing under soft light. Warm bread arrived with soy-infused butter — a standout start. 🍞 Winter ’22 Restaurant Week Menu: ▫️ Hokkaido Scallops – tender, beautifully plated in a glass vessel. ▫️ Carnaroli Rice Risotto – colorful and artistic. ▫️ Local Cod – well-paired with sauce. ▫️ Organic Chicken – tasty, but chicken breast just doesn’t belong on a fine-dining menu. ▫️ Potato Gnocchi – clever mix of potato, mushroom, nuts, and wine. ▫️ Homemade Cheesecake – shaped like little mice, each with a unique “tail.” Irresistibly good! 🧀🐭 ▫️ Guanaco Chocolate – a masterpiece: mousse in a gold-dusted patterned glass, crisp and silky, lifted by passionfruit. Still unmatched. 🍫💛 Summer ’23 Restaurant Week: ▫️ Summer Corn Soup – shrimp-infused corn chowder. ▫️ Glazed Pork Belly – overly sweet, BBQ-style, too rich for a starter. ▫️ Atlantic Salmon – crispy skin, Japanese-inspired sauce over rice. ▫️ Bell and Evan Chicken – same chicken encore. ▫️ Homemade Cheesecake – comfort in dessert form. ▫️ Frog Hollow Peaches – juicy and sweet. 🍑 Glanced at Winter ’24 — still chicken breast and pork belly on the menu. Maybe stick to seafood? The ambiance, bread, and desserts are memorable. Mains are hit-or-miss. Service is impeccable — like a hardworking student still finding their way. Worth trying at full price? Maybe once… 📍 Vestry 246 Spring St, New York, NY 10013 #NYCLife #NYCFoodFinds #NYCEats #NYCFoodGuide #MichelinNYC #MichelinStar #SeafoodSpot #NYCRestaurantWeek 🍽️🌟
