New York | Romantic Date with Film and Vintage Elegance (1)🍽️
Dowling’s at the Carlyle is my go-to for a romantic date in 2025. Even though it’s been popular for years, it still offers a unique experience with its menu featuring “vintage” classics that were all the rage in New York last century. 🎞️ I dined here in January, but I’m just getting around to sharing it now. The atmosphere was incredible. We ordered two dishes that required a cart to be wheeled to our table for preparation, adding a touch of spectacle and a full sense of ceremony. The average cost per person is around $130-180. Located in the Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel, the restaurant exudes an understated luxury that makes it perfect for a date. 🌟 🦪 Orient Point Oysters $32/half dozen 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Fresh Long Island oysters from New York, just right for an appetizer. 🥩 Steak Diane $72 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This steak has a fascinating history. It’s not commonly found in many restaurants anymore, but Dowling’s still offers it, and many tables ordered it. It’s said to have been invented in Britain before World War II and became popular in New York in the 1940s. 🎞️Watching it being prepared tableside is quite a show. The steak is relatively thin, and the sauce is quite flavorful, which slightly overpowers the beef’s natural taste but adds its own charm. It arrives at the table steaming, making a stronger visual impression than taste. #MyYearOfRituals #HiddenGemRestaurant
