New York | The Legendary Speakeasy Hidden Behind a Phone Booth 🎊
🍃Please Don’t Tell is truly a mystery-filled experience, perfectly capturing the vibe of the American Prohibition Era. In the East Village of Manhattan, there’s a hot dog place called Crif Dogs. When you walk in, there’s a tiny, cramped phone booth to the left. Pick up the phone on the wall, dial as instructed, and soon someone behind the wall will open a hidden door to reveal a secret bar. 🎈 🎢 This place is steeped in legend, having topped numerous lists. The drinks are tasty, but the wait is quite something – it’s not worth waiting that long. The popularity is mind-boggling; walk-ins usually face a waitlist of over an hour. They announce daily reservations at 3 p.m., but they’re super hard to get. 🕒 🌸Spice Merchant This drink is supposed to be super spicy, but it’s actually quite okay. I prefer the take on Chai at another nearby bar, Hard to Explain. It’s a mix of tequila and mezcal, with green apple juice and Indian masala chai. 🌊 The drink is garnished with green apple slices and lots of cumin seeds, giving it a celery-like aroma and a very unique taste. Surprisingly, the spice flavor isn’t as intense as expected, and the layers aren’t as rich as I imagined. 🍵 Please Don’t Tell is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking to experience a piece of New York’s history. The thrill of entering a secret bar is unmatched! 🌟 #NewYork 🌇🌟
