New York | The Morgan Library & Museum

🌟 This place is Morgan’s private collection, a combination of a library and a museum. Although it’s called a library, the books inside are too ancient, so it’s not open to the public. 🌟 It’s best to make a reservation before visiting. There’s a free admission event every Friday from 5-7 pm, but it seems you need to book tickets in advance on the official website to get in. I actually didn’t know about the advance reservation, and I randomly passed by the museum on a Friday afternoon around 4 pm, seeing a sign that said free admission. When I entered, everyone was checking their tickets. I bluffed my way in by saying I couldn’t find my ticket, and the Indian sister at the door let me in. She was so nice! 🌟 The museum isn’t very large and mainly consists of 5 parts. There are guides available at the entrance that you can take to look at. It’s quite interesting to explore on your own. The overall architectural style is more European, with ceiling paintings. The carved beams and painted rafters are very luxurious. Some rooms are Gothic style, others Baroque. It’s a true representation of New York’s old money, giving you a strong sense of capitalist decayļ½ž 🌟 I’ve visited many American museums and they all seem somewhat similar: there’s always a section of medieval or European collections; modern art/photography/emerging forms of expression are also part of it; and there are themed special exhibitions. 🌟 The main visitors this time were elderly people. Basically, no children and few young people. Maybe the young folks are at the bars on Friday nightsšŸ˜† #NewYork #NewYorkLife #NewYorkArtViewing #Museum #WorthVisitingMuseums #CulturalSightsShare #NewYorkMorganLibrary
