New York | The Office of Mr. Moto ๐
Are all New York restaurants into scarcity marketing now? Every month on the 1st, reservations for the next month are released at The Office of Mr. Moto, and itโs a race to secure a spot two months in advance! ๐ ๐ The restaurant thrives on mystery. The entrance is super inconspicuous, and you need to enter a password into a mailbox to get inโthe key is in your reservation email. ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ There are 21 courses in total, including 15 pieces of nigiri and 1 tuna hand roll. ๐ข The appetizers before the sushi were all delicious, but then the quality took a dive. ๐ฆช The steamed abalone was super fresh, with firm and chewy meat. ๐ฆ Among the three small dishes, the firefly squid and miso mackerel were amazing! ๐ฅ The uni in the chawanmushi was just okay. Inside, there were really no standout moments. The only dishes I remember are: Grilled scallops with nori ๐ Hokkaido uni, which was spot on. And the sardines, which had a lot of bonesโwas that normal? ๐ ๐ธ The restaurant only has 12 seats: 6 at the counter and 6 tables. The Gallery is for tables, not the counter, so donโt make the same mistake I did and end up with your first table omakase experience. ๐ The value is really top-notch, but overall, the quality doesnโt quite live up to the hype. The fish was pretty standard. If youโre not too picky, I still recommend it. ๐ Reservations are released on Tock every month on the 1st at 10 AM. ๐ The Office of Mr. Moto #NewYorkFood #NewYorkSushi ๐๐
