New York | Trendy Thai Restaurant on Northern Blvd π€
Restaurant Name: When In Bangkok Address: 161-16 Northern Blvd, Queens, NY 11358 Recommended Dishes: πππππ Kang Ped (Curry Duck) The first bite was incredibly surprising! The curry has a touch of sweetness and spiciness, probably from the coconut milk. The sweet coconut flavor paired with just the right amount of spice is perfect with rice! π½οΈ ππππ Pad Thai Boran (Thai-Style Fried Hanoi Noodles) The base is Thai fried noodles, with a crispy, net-like egg crepe on top. The most eye-catching part is the two huge shrimp on top. The overall flavor is pretty good, but it gets a bit greasy by the end. π ππππ Kra Brow (Thai Basil Fried Ground Pork) This is a must-order for me whenever I eat Thai food. The savory and fragrant ground pork, mixed with rice and topped with a slightly runny egg, is amazing! The only downside is that this dish isn't spicy enough, which might be a plus for those who can't handle heat. π Dishes to Avoid: Mango Sticky Rice: A classic Thai dish, but this version is way too sweet. I could only manage a few bites. π Thai Milk Tea: Made with powdered milk tea, it's also very sweet. It seems to use soy milk, which I personally couldn't get used to. However, their lychee Thai tea is pretty goodβlight, sweet, and refreshing. π§ Overall Rating: πππ Each dish is pretty standard, but the overall experience felt quite greasy. It's not bad, but I probably won't be coming back. The ambiance is nice, perfect for couples and great for taking photos. π #NYCEats #NYCLife π
