BK’s Super Popular Taiwanese Brunch Just Opened in the East Village! 🎉 Last Friday, around 10 a.m., there was already a massive line! After placing our order, we were told to wait another 40 minutes and we’d get a text message when our food was ready... There were hardly any seats inside the shop. There’s a mix of carb-loaded East-meets-West fusion dishes: you can have Taiwanese braised pork buns and also doughnuts. You can order soy milk as well as cappuccino ☕️. (Some signature sweet and greasy combos) 🧅 Scallion Pancakes: Fresh out of the oven, they’re incredibly fragrant, just like the street stall breakfasts of old! The shrimp version comes with a large shrimp patty. 🍙 Rice Balls: Almost everyone gets one! But my stomach was already full, so this is on my list for next time. (The pastries are on the sweet side, the kind that makes you feel like you’ve plowed through two acres after eating) 🍞 Egg Yolk Toast: Thick-cut square toast with a layer of eggy sugar glaze, crispy around the edges. 🍰 Red Date Cake: Soft and moist, with a rich red date flavor. 🍩 Mochi Doughnuts: American sugar-glazed doughnuts crossed with Korean mochi doughnuts. The cutest part is the menu design! Seeing the pinyin, you can’t help but follow along and read: sā lā~ bián dāng~ Next time, I don’t have to make a special trip to BK; now I can get it right here in the East Village! 🌟 📍 Win Son Bakery #NewYorkTravel #NewYorkShopExploration 🌃🌟
