New York | Yakitori Totto π
Today, I checked out a yakitori spot in New York. The shop is tiny, but the moment you step in, it feels like youβve been transported to a bustling Japanese street. Itβs full of life and warmth. π₯ π Chicken Offal Skewers: The chicken gizzard and heart skewers were perfectly cooked. The gizzards had a slightly charred exterior but were still crispy inside, not tough at all. The hearts had a nice chewiness but were tender, with a delightful crunch. There was no offal aftertaste, which was really nice. π Chicken Thigh Skewers: These were coated in a slightly sweet sauce and grilled to a beautiful char. Like the drumsticks, they were juicy and tender, bursting with flavor when you bite into them. Although the chicken had a slight dumpling filling-like texture, it was still super tasty. π₯¬ Grilled Okra: A great palate cleanser! Simply seasoned with salt, these skewers let the natural aroma of the vegetables and the unique texture of okra shine through. π Scallop and King Oyster Mushroom Skewers: These were amazing! The scallops had their own unique sweetness, while the mushrooms were full of juice. Together, they created a symphony of flavors on the taste buds. π #NewYork #Yakitori #JapaneseStreetFood ππ
