New York β’ Drink β’ Worth the Wait at Tomi Jazz (1)πΈ
I'm not a fan of waiting in lines. Spending time, energy, and leg power just to get something that might not be that great can be frustrating. But Tomi Jazz is the exception! π π When we arrived at the entrance on a Thursday night, there was still a long line. I thought about giving up and heading to Wildcard across the street. But my friend noticed the line was moving pretty quickly, so we decided to stick it out. It ended up taking about an hour. π While we were waiting on the staircase, a big American cockroach suddenly appeared and started crawling around. It was so shocking that we momentarily forgot about the wait! π¦ The hardest part is always when you're almost there but not quite. The basement entrance had no ventilation, and I was thinking that if another cockroach showed up, we'd be trapped! We kept peeking through the bar door as it opened and closed, eagerly hoping to get inside as soon as possible. πͺ π Finally, we were granted entry. After navigating the narrow path, I have to say, the hour-long wait was absolutely worth it! π The place feels like someone's living room, filled with all sorts of quirky little trinkets and bottles. There's an old-fashioned alcohol lamp, a little train circling happily on the ceiling, and of course, amazing live jazz. πΆ π Everything is just perfect. The volume of the music is just right, the alcohol concentration is just right, and the cocktails are perfectly balanced. Angels Share is light, Martini is strong, and Tomi's signature cocktails are just in the middle. #NewYork #NYCEatingDrinking #NYCExploration π½οΈ
