New York 🇺🇸 | New and Tempting Peking Duck in Town 🍗
There’s a new restaurant in town called Octo Restaurant, and it’s located in Ktown—super easy to find! 📍 I saw their dishes on Instagram and just had to try them out. They specialize in Korean-Chinese fusion cuisine, but what really drew us in was the Peking duck! 😋 1⃣️ Half Peking Duck $60 🔪 It’s a bit pricey compared to Golden Wuish’s half duck at $44. The portion is decent, with good marbling of fat and meat (the duck skin is better than Golden Wuish’s thick layer). If the skin could be a bit more crispy, it would be perfect—it felt like it missed a bit of heat. They also included a small stir-fry of duck meat with lettuce 🥬 to enjoy. 2⃣️ Truffle Shrimp Dumplings 🤔 This one was a bit of a head-scratcher. Overall, it had a nice truffle aroma, paired with a runny egg yolk and shrimp. It was a bit odd 😂 and didn’t quite match up to traditional salted egg yolk dumplings. 3⃣️ Shrimp Sandwich 🍔 As an appetizer, it was fine but nothing special. Just a solid choice without any standout features. 4⃣️ Crispy Chicken 🍗 This was my favorite! The sweet and tangy sauce paired with the fried chicken cutlet, topped with colorful chili rings 🌶️. It looked simple but smelled amazing! The chili rings were really spicy. The chicken wasn’t super tender but had a nice, firm texture. #NYCExperience #NYCNewRestaurant 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
