Can't Get a Table at Don Angie? Try the French Restaurant Across the Street Mino Brasserie ๐225 W 12th St, New York, NY 10011 Today is a day of broken hearts. We arrived a bit late at Don Angie, and the line was super long. By the time it was our turn, there were no seats left. After waiting for ages with a waitlist number and realizing we probably wouldn't get a table, we decided to check out the French restaurant across the street. It looked nice, had a 4.7 Google rating, and the staff seemed French. So we gave it a try. Hereโs the receipt๐งพ at the end. OYSTERS ๐ฆช 6 for $19 โ Pretty average, but the sauce was tasty. SALAD MIXTE ๐ฅ $16 โ Just okay, nothing special. FILET DE BOEUF ROSSINI ๐ผ $54 โ Foie gras, filet mignon, potatoes, and black truffle. The steak was tender and delicious, but the foie gras was bland. There was no seasoning or fruit jam to enhance the flavor. It just didn't taste good or smell appetizing. MACARONI AU CHAMPIGNONS ๐ณ $26 โ Like a giant version of mac and cheese. It was greasy, bland, and lacked salt. I felt like I was eating oil. I could only manage to eat half of it. GRATIN DAUPHINOIS ๐ฅ $11 โ The potatoes were sliced and still hot when served. But they were super greasy, with no dairy flavor or salt. The oiliness was overwhelming. Halfway through, I saw a thick layer of oil at the bottom of the bowl. I couldn't finish it. After the meal, I felt like my throat was coated with oil. It was so greasy that I couldn't take another bite. I needed a huge cup of lemon tea to feel better. I genuinely suggest the restaurant should have a small salt shaker on the table so customers can add salt themselves! The bread before the meal was cold and tough to chew๐ญ. For those who couldn't get a table at Don Angie, I recommend finding another place to eat! #NewYork #NYC Food Guide ๐
