New York šŸ†• Korean omakase!

To celebrate my bestie’s big life milestone, I booked a spot at this new counter restaurant helmed by a renowned Michelin-starred chef from Korea—and it totally lived up to the hypeā€¼ļø Every dish was stunningly presented ✨, brimming with that distinct ā€œKorean aestheticā€ā€”from the first course, mushroom rolls nestled in ā€œbushesā€ šŸ„, to the uni and ikura crisp perched on a crab shell šŸ¦€, and the ā€œmoonlight treasure boxā€ stuffed with caviar and wagyu. Everyone at the counter was whipping out their phones to snap photos. The serving methods were full of clever touches too: hamachi sashimi paired with freshly grated ice šŸ§, a ā€œblooming bouquetā€ of aged duck šŸ¦†, a personal mini stove for two with uni, ikura, shrimp, and seaweed rice šŸ™, and the grilled meat courses cooked right in front of us at the counter 🄩. I’ve always thought fine dining isn’t just about taste—it needs to satisfy all the senses to justify the price, and this place nailed it šŸ’Æ. You can really feel the chef’s care, making it perfect for dates—so much warmth and ceremony šŸ‘šŸ». Another thing I loved: the ingredients are all Asian palate favorites. The raw courses lean into uni and ikura, there’s a comforting hot chicken soup with lobster noodles in the middle, and even the desserts—chestnut ice cream and persimmon tart šŸ¦ā€”hit the spot. The two dishes that blew me away were the grilled sea eel and the aged duck—the duck was way better than the one at the trendy Michelin-starred Francie, in my opinion. There were 10 courses total (I posted the menu at the end of the photos!), and the portions were surprisingly generous for fine dining—we left so full we could barely walk. All in all, at $165, I think it’s totally worth it—I’ll definitely be back! The only downside was the manager, who went through the dish introductions a bit perfunctorily. Hope they’ll put more heart into it next time. That’s it for today’s share—hope I made you hungry! Follow me for more NYC life and food finds. Wishing everyone a productive new week at work! ✨ Gori ✨ 243 E 58th St, New York, NY 10022 #100RestaurantChallenge #NewYorkKoreanFood #NewYorkFineDining #NewYorkHiddenGemKorean #NewYorkFood #NewYorkLife #NewYorkOmakase #NewYorkDateSpots
