New York 4.8 out of 10 for affordable omakase🍣

✨ The ambiance is fantastic. The restaurant isn’t large—there are around 10 seats in total—but it never feels cramped. The wooden decor is a nice touch; compared to places with marble interiors or packed seating, it actually boosts your appetite, and it’s perfect for a date too. ✨ There are two chefs in the kitchen. We went for the 1 PM seating, and the place was almost full. It seems they haven’t done much advertising—apart from us, all the other diners were American. There are two menu options: 12 courses for $85 and 17 courses for $125. The milk pudding 🥛🍮 on the neighboring table looked too tempting, so we went for the 17-course set. The pacing was great—3 appetizers, 10 pieces of sushi, a toro and uni toast, two hand rolls, and a dessert. It balances innovation with more traditional flavors nicely. ✨ The first three appetizers were a delightful surprise: plump kanpachi with yuzu soy sauce, sweet Japanese oysters, and a fun combo of salmon with crispy scallions. ✨ The sushi course featured several toro pieces— ~ One dish, in particular, paired toro with uni and caviar, and it was mind-blowing❗ But I also loved the shima aji and red snapper. The fish was perfectly prepared; the seasoning added a subtle twist to the soy sauce without feeling forced or over-the-top. The scallop, uni, and sweet shrimp were all high-quality, and the simple seasoning let their natural sweetness shine. ✨ The black sesame milk pudding at the end was incredible❗ Silky and smooth, with a rich milk flavor but not too sweet—it was the perfect finish. Honestly, I was stuffed after 17 courses, but I’d order this menu again just for the pudding, lol~ ✨ As for drawbacks, the toro and uni toast was good quality, but the toasted bread was too crunchy. It might be better with vinegared rice or crispy rice instead. Overall, it’s really excellent—whether in terms of ingredients, ambiance, or value, it outshines Ishikawa, in my opinion. That’s it for today’s share—if I made you hungry, give it a like ❤️💛! Follow me for more NYC life, food, and work content.
