New York Bar Exploration 🥂
🍹 Strange Magic: A refreshing and delicious cocktail that’s perfect as an aperitif. Despite my usual aversion to vodka-based cocktails, this one stood out. Although vodka is the base spirit, it’s elevated with Madeira wine and Prosecco. 🌊 The addition of strawberries, grapefruit, and lemon creates a balanced and rich sweet-and-sour profile. Thoughtfully, the bartender topped it off with some soda water, perhaps to make it more approachable or to save a bit on Prosecco. 🥃 Odd Love: If you’re a fan of strong drinks, this one’s a must-try. It’s a blend of rye whiskey, Spanish brandy, house-made cold brew coffee, and absinthe. 🎢It’s like a twist on the classic Manhattan cocktail, with the sweet vermouth and bitters reimagined as brandy, coffee, and absinthe. Served in a Lowball glass with a large ice cube. 🥃 Impossible Idea: Another strong drink worth trying. The base spirit is mezcal, giving it a smoky twist on a classic cocktail. It comes with freshly made caramelized banana slices on the side. Take a sip of the mezcal, then enjoy a piece of banana—it’s a delightful combination. This is one of the better mezcal drinks I’ve had, without being overly sweet. 🍃I visited around 9 p.m., and the wait time was about 15 minutes, which isn’t bad at all. Patent Pending is definitely a bar I’ll be returning to. However, they don’t do off-menu drinks, so once you’ve tried everything on the menu, you’ll have to wait for the next season to try something new. Cheers! 🥂 #BarExploration #CocktailBar #NYCBars 🌆🌟
