New York Bar Hopping | The Mysterious The Campbell at Grand Central š¶
š Grand Central Terminal š° $20+/per drink (before tax) ā ļø ID check required If it werenāt for a friendās recommendation, I would have never noticed The Campbell, this hidden gem tucked away inside Grand Central Terminal. Perhaps itās precisely because of its discreet location that not many people write about it online. šø To find it, itās best to enter the main hall of Grand Central. Look around and spot the sign for āCampbell Apartment.ā Head in that direction, exit the terminal, turn left, and youāll see a somewhat quiet entrance. Go in and turn right, and there you have itāThe Campbell. šø If youāre lost, the staff at the open bar in Campbell Apartment are usually happy to point you in the right direction. The drinks at The Campbell tend to be on the heavier side, perhaps influenced by its location in the heart of Manhattan, surrounded by massive office buildings. šø The clientele is mostly male office workers, so the drinks cater to a āclassicā tasteā even the āPeach Blossomā is whiskey-based (a gin base might have been more consistent with the name). šøThere are a few lighter, more refreshing options, though. I remember a clear-colored drink from the picture, but itās been so long that Iāve forgotten its name. Overall, itās an average experience. Itās a decent spot if youāre in the area and craving a drink. The ambiance is nice, but I personally prefer lighter, fruitier cocktails, so I donāt usually go back. If Iām in the East Village, Iāll head to Death & Co. ā my forever happy place! š„ šø Reservations are easy to make, and it gets pretty lively with office workers after 8 or 9 PM on weekdays. The Campbell has two floors, with the second floor being quieter and having fewer seats. šø #NewYork #NYCAdventures #NYCBars ššø
