New York Bar Red and Black List "Part One" (2)๐
๐น Attaboy Even though it plummeted out of the top 50 list this year, it's still well-known for its "gimmick" of not having a menu. I had a great experience at J Boroski in Shanghai, which also doesn't have a menu and relies on the bartender's improvisation, so I was really looking forward to it. ๐ ๐ธBut my experience at Attaboy this time can only be described as either a miscommunication with the bartender or just a style that didn't resonate with me. Overall, the flavors were heavy and didn't leave much of an impression. I feel like these no-menu bars really depend on knowing your own preferences, communicating with the bartender, and maybe putting on your E-persona to have a better experience. I had high expectations for this place, but I probably won't be going back. ๐น Employees Only This is also a very famous New York "old internet celebrity" bar, but this time it gave me such a big shock that I was. First of all, there's a dress code when you enterโyou can't wear shorts or hats. I can understand that, but once inside, the place is dark, crowded, and noisy. ๐ ๐ธ I don't get the point of the dress code in this environment. I ordered two drinks (can't remember the names), one was overwhelmingly alcoholic, and the other was so sweet it made my throat hurt. I couldn't even finish half of them before I had to leave. I can't give an objective evaluation, but I guess it's a matter of personal taste. #AmbianceRestaurantBar #NighttimeHotspot ๐๐
