New York City Restaurants Perfect for Catching Up with Friends 🍮

Schilling restaurant&bar 109 Washington St, New York, NY 10006 I didn’t originally plan to visit this place for a review—that day, after helping me move my luggage, my friend and I were absolutely starving by 8 PM. We stumbled upon this spot nearby and decided to give it a try. Upon entering, we were greeted and asked to wait briefly. To our surprise, we later discovered it’s actually a Michelin-recommended restaurant! đŸ˜Č The waiting area is separated from the dining section by a black curtain, which I found quite considerate for customer privacy. Although the waiting space near the entrance is small with no seating, the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded, so we didn’t have to wait long. The ambiance inside was lovely—warm pumpkin and amber lighting, along with small candleholders on each table, gave off such a cozy, almost Christmassy vibe that made the chilly New York evening feel wonderfully warm and peaceful. ✹ The menu was concise, fitting on a single A4 page, but the dishes we tried were impressive. đŸ„– The complimentary pre-meal bread was absolutely delicious (or maybe I was just really hungry that day 😅). It came with three different dips: blueberry jam, garlic-infused potato, and cucumber salad. Switching between sweet and savory with each bite was a total game-changer! đŸ„© German-style meat patty: This was just okay—decent portion size though. 🎃 Honeynut squash: OMG, this dish is a must-try! đŸ€© I’m not sure if it was the autumn mood or the cozy atmosphere, but my friend and I immediately agreed on ordering it. And guess what? We finished every last bite! The dish featured sweet honeynut squash served on a crushed pecan base, topped with creamy burrata cheese. The combination of these three distinct flavors was simply mind-blowing. As a huge pecan and burrata lover, I highly recommend it! đŸ· The sparkling wine was pleasant, and their special cocktails tasted similar to what you’d find at a casual bar. I’m no wine expert—we ordered drinks purely for the vibe and to toast to a great evening! đŸ„‚ What’s your go-to spot in NYC for catching up with friends?
