New York Delights | Greek Cuisine at Eleni’s 🌺
I’ve dined in New York restaurants decorated with beautiful flowers, but this was my first time eating under lemon trees at a Greek restaurant. 🌿🍋 Eleni’s has an incredibly fresh and girly vibe, perfect for Instagram 🌟. Our waiter was a jolly, plump uncle who cheered us on, no matter what we ordered. 👏 Their dishes have a Mediterranean touch, light and healthy. After seeing our order, our uncle waiter even suggested we try a salad. 🥗 The appetizer was the classic Greek Pita bread, which was quite filling. Here’s what we ordered: Octopodi Sharas 🦑: A Mediterranean dish of octopus, onions, capers, lemon, and herbs. The octopus was crispy on the outside and tender inside, quite delicious. But this preparation was different from the Spanish and Italian versions I usually enjoy on islands, retaining a hint of the octopus’s natural flavor. Orata 🐟: Most people on XHS seem to order Lavraki, but I went with Orata. Both dishes are seasoned with lemon oil and herbs, but Orata is a bit more robust than Lavraki. The portion was surprisingly large and had a refreshing taste. You can choose based on your preference. Giouvetsi Arni 🍖: Baby lamb legs baked with orzo and fresh tomato sauce. It’s been a while since I tasted such tender lamb legs and delicious barley stew. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to try Greek cuisine. 🌟 Address: 226 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10003 Average Cost: $30-$50 #GreekCuisineNYC 🌿 #GreekFoodInNY 🍔
